Message from the Chief
This month, I want to introduce you to one of Sunnyvale's favorite law enforcement partners - Jeff Rosen, our Santa Clara County District Attorney.  Jeff took office on January 3, 2011 and has really hit the ground running - I think his prior 16 years with the DA's Office gave him the legs he will need to keep up with the issues as top prosecutor for our County.  During his prior service, Jeff Rosen was a name synonymous with tough cases and good results - his prosecutorial lineage ranges from drug trafficking, to burglary, robbery, rape, to child molestation, to gang violence and murder - Jeff has been very successful in winning convictions in the most heinous of crimes.

The reason Jeff is so important to us is twofold - one, to provide a sort of check and balance on every case that comes across every one of his attorneys' desks; Jeff has to make sure that every element of every crime is there - this is all about case integrity and fairness.   The second area of responsibility Jeff has, is to make sure that once the case proves out on paper, that his prosecutors are very well prepared to deliver results in court - not an easy task since Jeff has to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt....... in every case, on every issue.

What I've seen since Jeff joined the District Attorney's Office in 1995 is a well reasoned, smart, tenacious, and very fair litigator who is willing to make tough decisions, and who works just as hard to prove innocence as he does guilt.  I know you will see the very same as Jeff takes the helm and provides outstanding service to every member of the Sunnyvale community and everyone in Santa Clara County - Do well Jeff, we are all counting on you to keep the scales of justice in balance!
