New Plans - Youth Mission Trip   

 

Because of the flooding along the Missouri River, we will not be staying overnight at Missouri Valley Presbyterian Church in Iowa any more.  Instead, we will go up to Minnesota and stay at the Byrnes' cottage.  Thanks Larry and Barb!

 

Please keep Missouri Valley Presbyterian Church and those affected by the flooding in your prayers, as well as the youth.

Lawn Mowing Sign-Up!

 

We are going to ask members to take turns mowing the church lawn again this season.  Please sign up on the office door if you can help.  The lawn can be mowed anytime between Thursday and Saturday.  Thank you!

Fillman Fellowship

 

Here are the plans for our Thursday, June 9, Fillman Fellowship meeting:

 

Please join us at 5:45 p.m. in our church parking lot to car pool to the Annual Strawberry Festival at the First Lutheran Church!  Cost is a suggested donation of $6.00 at the door.  Our plans include attending The Monmouth Municipal Band Concert starting at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.  Please note the change of time!!

Monmouth Police Department Citizen Police Academy 

 

The 2001 Citizen Police Academy begins on Wednesday, June 15, at 7:00 p.m. and will conclude on Wednesday, July 27, with a graduation open house.  All classes will be held at the Monmouth Police Department training room at 500 South Main Street.  For more information, please contact the Monmouth Police Department at 734-8383.

Icebreakers  

 

The June meeting of Icebreakers will be held on the 19th at 6:00 p.m. (note time change) in the social hall at the church.  The program will be given by Bud Linroth, "History of C.B. & Q Lines".  This will be a dessert meeting and reservations can be made by calling Jo Ellen Dollinger (734-8627), Donna Larson (734-6103), or Darlene Moffet (734-5537).

To Judy Andrews, Nancy Bersted, Debbie Stanton, and the rest of their family, on the death of their beloved mother, Helen Bersted, who died on June 1, 2011.  

 

To Betty McBride, family, and friends, on the death of her husband, Dr. Jack McBride, who died on June 4, 2011.  A service in witness to the resurrection for Jack will be Thursday morning at Faith United Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m.

 

To Cathy Abernathy and Jane (John) Steis, and their family and friends, on the death of their mother, Joan Steis, who died on June 5, 2011.  Visitation is scheduled for Joan, Thursday evening, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Turnbull's.  A service in witness to the resurrection for Joan will be on Friday morning at Faith United Presbyterian Church at 10:00 a.m.
