The Rev. Dr. William C. Myers
Pastor Myers will not be in the pulpit this weekend as he will be in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. On Friday, June 3, at 7:00p.m. he will be graduating from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary/Aberdeen University with a Doctor of Ministry Degree. He started this work three years ago and finished in May. His final project was entitled, "Sit Lux: Refocusing the Light of Monmouth College", and turned out to be 120 pages long. He has made his wife promise not to have a party for him. So, your presence in worship on June 12 and the summer in general would be wonderful gift enough.

Summer Schedule

Youth Mission Trip
Our youth will be leaving for their mission trip next Saturday, June 11, at noon. They have been fortunate enough to find a halfway point at Missouri Valley Presbyterian Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Their pastor has arranged for a cook out at a parishioner's house where they'll play games with their youth and later stay all night at the church. After worshiping with their congregation on Sunday, they will continue their fellowship with a potluck that the church is having in their honor prior to continuing their journey to Lake Traverse, South Dakota.
Please keep them all in your prayers in the next week as we prepare for this mission trip.

Kitchen Update Conversations
It seems like there is always something going on in the Faith Church kitchen! It is a busy place! The Trustees have been discussing the possibility of updating the kitchen and would like to invite the congregation to two brainstorming sessions regarding kitchen updates. We would appreciate all ideas and a committee will be organized to pursue the ideas. The meetings will be held in the social hall on Thursday, June 2, at 4:00 P.M. and Sunday, June 5, following church. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend and ideas may be given to any Trustee as well.

Horizons Bible Study Workshop
In this study, Margaret Aymer invites you to consider the Beatitudes as they might have been heard when Jesus spoke them - during the Roman Empire. While great in many respects, Rome was a cruel and brutal regime that did not stop short of executing anyone who challenged its authority.
The Rev. Agnes Brady will lead this workshop on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Coffee at 9:00 a.m. followed by the workshop at 9:30. Reservations can be made to Dorothy Williams, 196 West Hail, Bushnell, IL 61422, or by email at lauries_mom@yahoo.com.
The cost is $6.00 and the reservation deadline is June 1.
