This Sunday...
Sermon:
"What is Our Excuse? Are We not Like Him?"
Therefore he had to become like his brothers and sisters in every respect, so that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make a sacrifice of atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself was tested by what he suffered, he is able to help those who are being tested.

A Note from the Treasurer
Please indicate clearly on the memo line whether or not your pledge payments are for 2010 or 2011. If they are not marked, I will go by the date on the check as to what year to apply payment too.
Also, all checks put in the collection plate need to be made out to Faith. Any checks made out to Jamieson Center, Starting Point, etc. will be returned.
For memorial checks that are to go to Faith, please make the check out to Faith. If you do not, I have to write "pay to the order of Faith church from XXX memorial by Andrea Crum. Deposit only in Faith United Presbyterian Church. Security Savings Bank." This is very difficult to fit on the back of the check! Thank you for your cooperation, and if you have any questions, please contact me. Thank you, Andrea Crum

Start the New Year as a Volunteer!
The Wash Day Ministry is seeking volunteers to commit to a weekly or twice-a-month time slot during regular church office hours. Volunteers will assist participants in doing their laundry and provide caring fellowship. No special skills are required: all you need is a willingness to reach out and help others. We will work with you to accommodate your schedule. The ministry will kick off with a training session and dinner on Wednesday, January 5, from 6-8 p.m. to inform volunteers about their duties, how scheduling will work, and other service organizations to which they can refer participants. If interested, please sign up outside the church office or call the office. If you have any questions, contact Erika Solberg at 734-5145 or esolberg@monm.edu. If you cannot attend the training session, we still want you! -- just let us know when you sign up.

'Tis the Season to be Thankful
Look for a sign our WNL children have made. They want to help you remember to bring food each week for the Jamieson Center box. You may bring anything non-perishable and place it in the shopping cart or a box at the door. To make it easier, you could go with a schedule such as this: Dec. 26 - Peanut Butter & Jelly Jan. 2 - Hamburger/Tuna Helper & tuna or Mac & Cheese Let's fill the boxes each week! Thank you!!

Candlelight Communion
Following the order of service for evening prayer, we will celebrate the birth of Jesus by celebrating the sacrament of the Lord's Supper at 11:00 p.m. If you have been looking for a moment of peace during this hectic holiday season, this is a good place to find it.

Dear Faith United Presbyterian Church,
Thank you very much for the final exam care package you put together for me. It was very kind of you to think of us college students and we are all very grateful for your generosity.
