We are in the process of organizing a trip Nashville, TN to help with the flood clean-up. The following information has been provided for us. | What are a typical day's schedule & expectations?
|
6:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. - Breakfast, morning chores
7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. - Morning devotions
8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Work
4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - Showers
6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. - Dinner, free time, etc. |

General construction, cleaning, sheetrock, carpet, trim, painting, flooring, exterior repairs, landscaping, restoration |
| Will all team members work together on one site, or at various?
|
Team members will probably work at various locations, though specifics aren't known at this time. This will depend on the team size and the number and location of work sites. |
| Should volunteers bring tools, supplies, or money? | Yes, volunteers can bring tools and supplies if desired. |
| Will there be power at the work site, and should teams bring power tools? | Most sites will have power though generators may be necessary. Bring generators if you have them. |
| Length of time volunteers can help? | Volunteers can help for 1 week, Sunday-Saturday, though exceptions may be made. |
| Are there guidelines on when to arrive or leave? | Groups should arrive after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday and leave by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. |
| Size of volunteer teams? | There is a minimum team size of 3 people. We can accommodate up to 30 people. |
| Age restrictions? | Volunteers who have completed 8th Grade are welcome to come. For groups with youth, there must be a 5 to 1 youth to adult ratio. |
| Is housing provided for volunteers? If so, what type? | Yes, housing is provided at the church. Volunteers will be housed in classroom space. There are shower facilities and a gym available. |
| Do volunteers need to bring money for housing? | Volunteers must bring $20 per person per night. |
| Sleeping arrangements? | Bunk beds with air mattresses are available for volunteers. Volunteers should bring all necessary linens, including towels, sheets, and/or sleeping bags. |
| Are any meals provided for volunteers? | Supplies for all meals, including dishware and utensils, will be provided. Groups will receive a list of what is available to them before they arrive. One dinner a week will be cooked for volunteers. Volunteers will be responsible for cooking all other meals themselves. |
| Are cooking and/or refrigeration facilities available? | Yes. |
| Will teams need to coordinate meals with other groups? | Yes. |
| Is the work site near enough to "home" to return for lunch, or should teams plan to take lunch with them? | Volunteers should plan to pack a sack lunch at the church to take with them to the work site. Westminster will provide all lunch supplies. |
| Is there a store nearby? Restaurants? | Yes. |
| Are there local opportunities for recreational activities? | Yes. |
| Where is the nearest airport if a team flies? | Nashville (BNA) |
| Are there places to hook up RVs? | No, no space available. |
