Fellow Faith Church members,
By following the link below, you will find a well conceived and detailed proposal for a Wash Day Ministry at Faith Presbyterian Church. The committee that offered the proposal to the Session Tuesday evening clearly devoted time, intelligence, and inspiration on concept and design of a program consistent with our church's historical commitment to mission. The Session spent well over three hours: asking questions, seeking clarification of various provisions, imagining implementation and contingency over time, and attempting to discover and understand reasons for opposition some have expressed to the proposal. In the end, the motion to approve the plan was tabled and we agreed to disseminate the proposal to the congregation. In doing this, we all agreed that the congregation should know now what the proposal says and also be given the opportunity to ask questions and express concerns. To that end we have scheduled two meeting times, this coming Sunday (May 30th at 11:30 a.m.) and next Sunday (June 6th at 8:30 a.m.) in the sanctuary. After these two conversations the Session will likely convene a special meeting mid-month to review and vote on the proposal. Please read the proposal, and join in conversation.
