Greetings!
As we anticipate the birth of Christ, here is an email that we recently received. It is entitled, "Why Jesus is better than Santa Claus".
Santa lives at the North Pole ... JESUS is everywhere.
Santa rides in a sleigh ... JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a year ... JESUS is an ever present help.
Santa fills your stockings with goodies ... JESUS supplies all your needs.
Santa comes down your chimney uninvited ... JESUS stands at your door and knocks, and then enters your heart when invited.
You have to wait in line to see Santa ... JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.
Santa lets you sit on his lap ... JESUS lets you rest in His arms.
Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, what's your name?" ... JESUS knew our name before we were born... Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.
Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly ... JESUS has a heart full of love.
All Santa can offer is HO HO HO ... JESUS offers health, help and hope.
Santa says "You better not cry" ... JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you."
Santa's little helpers make toys ... JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.
Santa may make you chuckle but ... JESUS gives you joy that is your strength. While Santa puts gifts under your tree ... JESUS became our gift and died on a tree.... The cross.
May you have a blessed Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

Christmas Pageant: This Christmas the children of our church will be offering a Christmas Pageant to you and God on Christmas Eve at 5:00 p.m. This celebration of Christ's birth is not meant only for the children and their parents. Please join us as we travel, with our children leading the way, to the manger of our Savior's birth. A Service of Lessons and Carols: The ancient Service of Nine Lessons & Carols - from King's College Chapel, Cambridge - recounts the prophecy and birth of Christ in the words of Holy Scripture and in songs of devotion and praise. Join us at 8:00 p.m. as we hear again the message of the angels and go even unto Bethlehem! Candle Light Communion: Following the order of service for evening prayer, we will celebrate the birth of Jesus by celebrating the sacrament of the Lord's Supper at 11:00 p.m. If you have been looking for a moment of peace during this hectic holiday season, this is a good place to find it. |
| Christmas-tide Breakfast
Join us on December 27, for our Annual Christmas-tide breakfast potluck at 9:30 a.m. in the social hall. Bring a dish to pass and your own table service.

Friends, On behalf of my family, let me take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity and kindness during this Christmas season. Your thoughtful cards and your caring words, your homemade treats and your generous gifts are always greatly treasured, but have been particularly meaningful this year. Whether you were sharing the joy of the Christmas season or acknowledging my grandmother's death, the many ways you have found to share your love in Christ's name have been most helpful and appreciated. Our family has been enriched in countless ways through sharing in our congregation's life together. This blessing extended to my mother and grandmother, as well, who always enjoyed the gracious reception they received whenever they visited. Thank you, again, for your thoughts and prayers, and the many tokens of your affection. Merry Christmas! Pastor Myers, Margie, Elizabeth and Will | |
