Wait, be patient, give it some time...  These are words that my parents always told me while I was growing up - usually pertaining to some adolescent kind of stuff.  I never would have imagined then that those words would take on a whole new meaning later on in my life. 
 
Twelve years ago today, I gave birth to my daughter Emily.  (Happy Birthday, Em!)  I remember the day like it was yesterday, and I was scared to death!  Mike and I were told that she would be born with hydrocephalus (water on the brain) when I was six months pregnant.  And, while we were bombarded with all kinds of information from different groups and organizations to help prepare us for her arrival, my mom would tell me again, "Be patient.  Don't read all that stuff, give it some time.  Just wait and see..."  At the time, I just didn't think I could do those things.  I had to know if she'd be ok.....  But guess what happened anyway?  I had to wait, give it some time, and be patient! 
 
Isn't it funny how we do that... get ourselves all worked up when we know what we have to do is wait to see what God's plan is for us?  That's probably one of the hardest things I've had to learn.  But, once I finally got it, once I finally learned that my life was in God's hands, I began to feel the peace that truly does surpass all understanding!
