Lisel asked a great question this past Sunday about our weekly Bible verse (John 3:16 shown on the blackboard above).  She asked what other verses in the Bible are similar to this one.  Let's all find some of our favorites and share them next Sunday!   Look at the notes in your study Bibles, or go on line at www.blueletterbible.org

Here are some of them to start with below...
Verses similar to John 3:16...

John 5:24  -  Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life; he does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

John 6:40  -  For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

1 John 4:9  -  In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.

Romans 5:8  -  But God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.

Romans 5:10  -  For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

Romans 8:32  -  He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him?
Next Sunday September 30th we meet at 9:45 AM in the conference room and library.  Pastor Carol will give us a 20 minute introduction to Luther's Small Catechism, and then we'll break into small groups by grade to study scripture.
