Hometown Nazareth Presentation at the 11:00 Service

Our sermon time will be devoted to our children and the great week they've had in Vacation  Bible School.  Did you know that 75 children, teen helpers and adults have been involved in our VBS Week?

We will also be thanking Terri Evers for serving as our church secretary (11:00).

At the 8:30 service we will be saying Godspeed and Farewell to Gail and Ed Gratzick and Karen Lentz as they move to Florida.

Youth Ministry Planning

Interested adults and youth are invited to participate in the second Youth Planning Session this Sunday morning at 9:45 in the Youth Room.  We are finalizing our summer activity plans and preparing a recommendation to the Congregation Council regarding the shape of youth ministry at Resurrection and possible part-time youth director.  Please bring your good ideas!  We especially are inviting parents of youth and children in Elementary, Middle and High Schools.

Please Make Worship a Priority This Summer!

We are keeping our regular schedule of 8:30 and 11:00 all summer. When you are in town, we certainly encourage you to be at worship and invite family and friends. Here are some upcoming Sundays with special emphasis:

  • Gospelfest Sunday is July 31,
  • Classical Musical Sunday is August 14,
  • Daniel Kuckuck's Ordination is Saturday, August 27, and
  • the visit of Bishop Mauney is Sunday, August 28.

It is not too early to be thinking about Rally Sunday on September 11. Our worship will include special remembrances of 9/11, since that is the 10th anniversary of this horrific day in the life of America.

BARGAIN SHOPPERS

Help provide items for our homeless meals!

This coming week, use the Wegmans coupon book to get free salad dressing and free carrots.  Place the French or Ranch salad dressing in the box for the Thurman Brisben shelter meals.  Place the carrots in the refrigerator.

Thanks!

Church Photo Directory

Sign-up for the RLC Picture Directory  is now online!  Four dates have been reserved for us on Sept 14 & 15 and Oct 13 & 14. Photographs will be taken at the church by CP Photo & Video.  If you can't make one of these dates, you can supply your own photo for inclusion.  If it is a professionally taken photo, an appropriate "right-to-print" letter must be included by the company so it can be printed in the directory.  Questions: Contact Brian Dickerson at:

b-dickerson@comcast.net or in-between services on Sunday.

Transportation Volunteers Needed
Good Afternoon Micah Volunteers!

We are in need of volunteers who would be willing to drive homeless individuals to various medical appointments both here in town and out of town (i.e. Richmond, Charlottesville, etc).  Out of town appointments do not come up very often, but when they do we often struggle to find transportation.

If you or someone you know might like to help out in the important ministry, please call or email.  We need you!!

Happy Summer!

 micah

"Here is the truly Christian life, here is faith really working by love, when a man applies himself with joy and love to the works of that freest servitude in which he serves others voluntarily and for nought, himself abundantly satisfied in the fullness and riches of his own faith."
