Dear Friends in Christ,

As we approach the end of our liturgical year, we give thanks to God for the many blessings of this life we've been given to share.  We give thanks for abundant food, and shelter; for family, and friendship, and fellowship.  We give thanks for calling us to ministries of blessing, of reconciliation, of invitation --  for the opportunities we are given to reflect the love of Christ in all that we do.

Draft Statement of Purpose

rlcOn Sunday, November 14th, the Church Council communicated to the congregation its proposal for a Purpose Statement and Guiding Principles for our church.  This was done through a document that is now posted on the RLC website.  The proposal comes after a successful congregation-wide survey in September, and draft purpose statements from our various ministry teams in October.  The Council now invites feedback from the congregation on the proposed Purpose Statement and Guiding Principles.   Based on such feedback, the Council will issue a final version that will be voted upon at our semi-annual Congregational Meeting on January 30, 2011.

"Here is the truly Christian life, here is faith really working by love, when a man applies himself with joy and love to the works of that freest servitude in which he serves others voluntarily and for nought, himself abundantly satisfied in the fullness and riches of his own faith."
