Radio Interview on Health Fair

Dear Resurrection Lutheran Congregation,

This message refers to the interview of Pastor Jim and Sue Merna talking about the Community Health Fair. You can listen on Life FM (89.5FM) or LifeFMRadio.org.

Subject:  LifeFM Broadcasting Error

Due the LifeFM general manager being out of town this past weekend, several "wires" got crossed at the station.  Consequently, the interview, which was schedule to be played 4 times over the past weekend, was only played once.

The entire interview will be aired this week on Tuesday night (Oct. 26) at 7:00 p.m. and Friday night (Oct. 29) at 7:00 p.m.  The LifeFM staff apologies for the error and appreciates your understanding.

LAST CHANCE to Attend Lost & Found (Registration by November 8th)- The Virginia Synod ELCA weekend Event for 7th & 8th Graders November 19-21, 2010 at Eagle Eyrie Center in Lynchburg, VA.  About 600 youth and adults arrive at the event at about 7:00 PM and depart on Sunday about noon. We have Large Group gatherings - one on Friday night, three on Saturday, and one on Sunday morning.  Large Group means singing, energy, worship, and a presentation on our event theme - "Ambassadors for Christ."  After each Large Group session each person is in a Small Group of about ten youth and a couple of adult leaders where you get to know other Lutheran youth from around the state and talk together about your life and faith and things that you're interested in.  There's also a big chunk of Free Time on Saturday when we have our "Talent Show," and you can rest in your cottage or visit with all your new friends.  One of the best times is in your cottage on Friday and Saturday nights, when you can relax and talk with the other youth and adults from your congregation about how Lost and Found is going for you!

Registration information can be found in the narthex of the church (blue paper) or www.vasynod.org  Registration is $150. If you have any questions or want to register contact Terri Evers 540-895-9290 or [email protected]

ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans July 18-22, 2012. Due to the overwhelming success of the 2009 Gathering the ELCA decided to return to New Orleans in 2012. For those of us that attended in 2009, it was a life-changing experience! This is not just a retreat; it's an opportunity for the youth of Resurrection to be with 37,000 other Lutheran Youth for worship, fellowship, music, cultural exchange, and the service of rebuilding New Orleans. The Gathering is for High School Students in 9th - 12 grade in 2012.  This experience is expensive so we will be doing extensive fundraising; no youth should be turned away due to lack of funds. For testimonies and other information go to http://www.elca.org/Growing-In-Faith/Ministry/Youth-Ministry/Youth-Gathering.aspx or contact Terri Ann Evers at [email protected] or 540-656-0000 (cell) or the church office.
