CROP WALK 2010
This year's CROP Walk will be held Sunday, October 17, starting at 3:00 at the Presbyterian Church in downtown Fredericksburg. The three mile walk raises money for Church World Services which helps people around the world build wells, irrigation systems, and assists refugees. Additionally, 25% of the money collected will be split between two local charities: the Fredericksburg Food Bank and Micah Ministries.
Thrivent Financial has announced it will match our giving for the CROP Walk at a 4 to 1 ratio. For every $4.00 given, Thrivent will give $1.00. With Thrivent's support we have an opportunity to exceed our past contribution to the CROP Walk!
It's easy to be involved!
- See Gail Taylor (786-5031 or gltaylor90@comcast.net) for a packet and start collecting donations.
- Checks should be made out to "Thrivent Chapter 30965" with a memo "CROP Walk". (If you are not walking, you may place your check in the offering plate.)
- All ages are invited to walk and remember those who walk daily just for their basic needs.
- Pray: May they walk in safety, O God. May they walk mindfully, recalling the multitudes who will not have enough to eat on this day.
