A note from our Pastors... |
Dear Resurrection Family, Please take note! Our All Nations Potluck this Sunday after worship is important for our congregation life. We hope that the Fellowship Hall will be filled with folks of all ages, all having a fine time of fellowship as Christ's Family at Resurrection. Please make your participation a priority to make sure we have a wonderful and memorable event! Our hearts sank on Monday morning when we heard that only about 50 folks indicated on the worship registration forms that they were coming to the All Nations Potluck. We are certain that many more folks want to come and just need a gentle reminder. Please, please, please come! We want folks of all ages to be present, including children and youth. What a great way for them to learn about fellowship and community building... Here are the details: * We worship this Sunday, May 23, at one worship service only (10:00 a.m.) * Everyone is invited to wear something red in recognition of the Day of Pentecost * Bring your food (hopefully reflecting your heritage, a main dish and a side dish) and put it in the Fellowship Hall before the service * Immediately following the service we will have our All Nations Potluck in the Fellowship Hall * During the meal we will honor our confirmands and all folks who have served this year in our Christian Education Ministry Why an All Nations Potluck? We are celebrating the joy of Pentecost that the good news of Jesus is to be shared with all nations. Also! This is a great Sunday for inviting family and friends! Let's have both a full sanctuary and full fellowship hall. We will be having some guests from an Hispanic Congregation that is considering sharing space with us and we will be having some guests from our synod who will be bringing a beautiful banner that is being dedicated by the African American Outreach Team in memory of Shelley Fields. May God inspire and bless us all, Pastors Jim and Carol
