Dear Friends in Christ,

And the Spirit fills the darkness of the heavens.
It fills the endless yearning of the soul.
It lives within a star too far to dream of.
It lives within each part and is the whole:
it's the fire and the wings that fly us home.

Reminders...

The deadline for input to the June Newsletter is this Friday, May 21st.  Please e-mail your input to Carol-Ann!

The Food of the Month we're collecting this month is CEREAL (either hot or cold).  Bring some in for the Christ Lutheran downtown food pantry.

Pentecost is this coming Sunday, May 23rd!  We'll have only ONE BIG WORSHIP SERVICE at 10:00 AM followed by a potluck lunch!  Bring some friends!
A note from our Pastors...

Dear Resurrection Family,

Please take note!  Our All Nations Potluck this Sunday after worship is important for our congregation life.  We hope that the Fellowship Hall will be filled with folks of all ages, all having a fine time of fellowship as Christ's Family at Resurrection.  Please make your participation a priority to make sure we have a wonderful and memorable event!

Our hearts sank on Monday morning when we heard that only about 50 folks indicated on the worship registration forms that they were coming to the All Nations Potluck.  We are certain that many more folks want to come and just need a gentle reminder.  Please, please, please come!  We want folks of all ages to be present, including children and youth.  What a great way for them to learn about fellowship and community building...

Here are the details:

*  We worship this Sunday, May 23, at one worship service only (10:00 a.m.)

*  Everyone is invited to wear something red in recognition of the Day of Pentecost

*  Bring your food (hopefully reflecting your heritage, a main dish and a side dish) and put it in the Fellowship Hall before the service

*  Immediately following the service we will have our All Nations Potluck in the Fellowship Hall

*  During the meal we will honor our confirmands and all folks who have served this year in our Christian Education Ministry

Why an All Nations Potluck?  We are celebrating the joy of Pentecost that the good news of Jesus is to be shared with all nations.

Also!  This is a great Sunday for inviting family and friends!  Let's have both a full sanctuary and full fellowship hall.  We will be having some guests from an Hispanic Congregation that is considering sharing space with us and we will be having some guests from our synod who will be bringing a beautiful banner that is being dedicated by the African American Outreach Team in memory of Shelley Fields.

May God inspire and bless us all,

Pastors Jim and Carol

Giving our lives joyfully in witness and service!

Grace and Peace in our Lord and Savior Jesus, the Risen Christ!
