Dear Friends in Christ,

"Everything is forgiven through grace, but as yet not everything is healed through the gift. The gift has been infused, the leaven has been added to the mixture. It works so as to purge way the sin for which a person has already been forgiven, and to drive out the evil guest for whose expulsion permission has been given. In the meantime, while this is happening, it is called sin, and is truly such in its nature; but now it is sin without wrath, without the law, dead sin, harmless sin, as long as one perseveres in grace and his gift."

Stewardship Reminder -- Last Day for 2009 Tax Year Contributions!

Give On-line
As Christians we begin each ecclesiastical year with the hope of Advent and the joy of Christmas!  As Americans we know that the 2009 tax year draws quickly to a close on the 31st of December!

The Stewardship Team reminds all parishioners that the state does not tax what you give to the church.  Making year-end contributions to the church is a good way to increase the amount of your tax refund checks just a few months away!  Here are a few things to remember:

·  The IRS ( http://www.irs.gov/ ) requires that all charitable contributions to be counted for taxable year 2009 must be made by Dec 31st.

·  Checks must be dated on or before Dec 31st and placed in the offering plate by Sunday Dec 27th or mailed (postmarked) by Dec 31st.  If you are mailing in last-minute donations (cash or check), we will use the postmark on the envelope to determine whether the gift is applied to 2009 or 2010.

·  Electronic Fund Transfers and Credit Card transactions must be completed on or before the 31st of December.  You should receive your end-of-year statements for tax purposes by 31 January 2010.

Many folks have told us they are not aware of all the different giving opportunities at Resurrection.  To try and help, we've created a new webpage with lots of information at:

"Here is the truly Christian life, here is faith really working by love, when a man applies himself with joy and love to the works of that freest servitude in which he serves others voluntarily and for nought, himself abundantly satisfied in the fullness and riches of his own faith."
