The Stewardship Team reminds all parishioners that the state does not tax what you give to the church.  Making year-end contributions to the church is a good way to increase the amount of your tax refund checks just a few months away!  Here are a few things to remember:

·  The IRS ( http://www.irs.gov/ ) requires that all charitable contributions to be counted for taxable year 2009 must be made by Dec 31^st.

·  Checks must be dated on or before Dec 31^st and placed in the offering plate by Sunday Dec 27^th or mailed (postmarked) by Dec 31^st.  If you are mailing in last-minute donations (cash or check), we will use the postmark on the envelope to determine whether the gift is applied to 2009 or 2010.

·  Electronic Fund Transfers and Credit Card transactions must be completed on or before the 31^st of December.  You should receive your end-of-year statements for tax purposes by 31 January 2010.
