Dear Friends in Christ,

"It suffices that through God's glory we have recognized the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. No sin can separate us from Him, even if we were to kill or commit adultery thousands of times each day. Do you think such an exalted Lamb paid merely a small price with a meager sacrifice for our sins? Pray hard for you are quite a sinner."

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther

Town Hall Forum Tonight with Presiding Bishop Hanson

Town Hall Forum Tonight (Dec. 6)
with ELCA Bishop Hanson

The timing couldn't be better for Resurrection.  Tonight at 5:30 the Presiding Bishop of the ELCA,  The Rev. Mark S. Hanson, will share priorities and hopes for the ELCA, and wants to hear stories from members about the church's work in their own contexts.  The format is a "Town Hall Forum".  This hour-long forum will be webcast live from Chicago, where Bishop Hanson will be joined by an audience of ELCA members.  You may watch the forum and submit questions at
http://www.ELCA.org/townhall

Bishop Hanson said he wants to build on the themes he shared in his November 19 letter to all ELCA members (see the December Resurrection newsletter).  He expects the conversation will include some discussion of what has transpired in the ELCA since the churchwide assembly.  The Town Hall Forum will also be available for on-demand viewing on the ELCA web site by the close of business on December 7.

"Here is the truly Christian life, here is faith really working by love, when a man applies himself with joy and love to the works of that freest servitude in which he serves others voluntarily and for nought, himself abundantly satisfied in the fullness and riches of his own faith."
