Dear Friends in Christ,

"Have I made silver and gold my idols? In what or who do I place my trust?  And is the problem in placing my trust in gold and silver that soon I truly have eyes that no longer see the plight of others, a mouth that will no longer speak for the sake of others, ears that no longer hear their cries, hands that no longer feel anything, legs that are unmoved to make any effort to move to understand, not even a sound is made in my throat for them?"

Bishop James F. Mauney
Bishop's Bible Study on Psalm 115

Reformation Sunday!

This coming Sunday we celebrate the Reformation which began with Martin Luther's posting of his 95 Theses on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences on the door of the castle church in Wittenberg on All Hallows Eve A.D.1517.  Remember to wear red this Sunday to worship!

First Quarter Capital Giving is Up!

Stewardship Metrics:  The graph below shows average monthly giving to our Building Fund for the past few years.  Note that first quarter giving for this year is up considerably from last year's level!  Thanks to all who give regularly of their "silver and gold" to support our Capital Fund.  Even through the worst economic times in recent memory, we've continued to give so that this congregation might live and grow and minister to all whom God calls into our life together!

"Here is the truly Christian life, here is faith really working by love, when a man applies himself with joy and love to the works of that freest servitude in which he serves others voluntarily and for nought, himself abundantly satisfied in the fullness and riches of his own faith."
