20 Year Anniversary Celebration |
Our congregation is 20 years old this year! We will be celebrating this anniversary with one big worship service on September 13th at 10:00 am -- the only worship service that Sunday. After worship, we'll share a meal of ham and turkey together. Volunteers are needed to help with tasks before the event, during the dinner, and afterwards. YOUR HELP IS NEEDED! Please see Donna Roberts or Debbie Carlson to see how you can help! A special feature will be the first annual DESSERT COMPETITION for the men of the church...participate and show off YOUR culinary talents (not your wife's or the bakery's)!!! See Spike Roberts for details.

Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America |
Women of Resurrection, please join us for our first Women of the ELCA meeting September 17 at 11:30 at the church. Bring a sandwich (dessert and coffee will be provided) and a friendlly smile as we fellowship together and learn about ourselves, the Bible, and the WELCA organization. The Women of the ELCA is "a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit." As part of "God's Beloved" we will focus on Paul's letter to the Romans. Monthly meetings will enable us to continue our discussion.
Questions? Call Carol Bailey (972-0371), Janet Buccola (972-4034), Emily Slunt (971-3221), or Dorothy Vernon (972-7593). |

Stewardship Metrics |
Even in tough economic times, our giving to the capital fund has been strong! Let's make it stronger! We'd like to get our capital giving back up to $15,000 a month (like it was just this past August!!!). To get there all we need is for every member to give 5 bucks more than you give now each week to the building fund. One dollar more every working day helps build your church! Please consider this prayerfully as we get ready for our 2010 capital fund appeal.
