Good Gifts!

Some gifts are better
than others...

Make a difference this Christmas.
Give ELCA Good Gifts.

Love is a gift catalogs are now available in the narthex, or go to www.elca.org/giving to order your Good Gifts online. You can make a difference by giving Good Gifts this year!

How does it work?

Make your gift choices from the Love is a gift catalog or shop online at www.elca.org/giving. For example, this year instead of buying someone another electrical gadget, you can make a donation to ELCA World Hunger or buy a pig or goat in that person's name. (Who needs a mini electric pepper mill with light*? Instead, you might save a child's life with fresh goat's milk!) (Note: To buy animals, click on "Care for the world's hungry" and then "Visit the Global Barnyard.")

After you select and pay for your Good Gift, you can tell your loved ones about the gift by using one of the cards provided at the back of the catalog or (if you buy an animal) one of the "God's Global Barnyard" cards available in the narthex. If you order online, you can send an electronic card or print a downloadable card on your printer.

And if you still want something tangible for the person to open, why not pick up a small fair trade item (such as chocolate or a handmade ornament) to go along with your Good Gift card?

Questions? See Marti Martin or another member of the ELCA World Hunger Team.

Fair Trade Fair and Service of Thanksgiving

cornucopiaLutheran World Relief (LWR) Fair Trade Fair is ongoing in our narthes today (Nov 16th) and next Sunday (Nov 23rd).  This is a great opportunity to buy some really unique gifts and make a difference in the global economy while you're at it!

Next Sunday (the 23rd) we'll also have our pie fellowship at 5 P.M. followed by our Service of Thanksgiving at 6.  Bring a pie to share (or just come to eat -- there's always plenty of pie!)

A Prayer for Thanksgiving from our Pastors

Dear Lord,

Accept our grateful praise this day for the many blessings you have given us. Forgive us for the times we have forgotten to say thank you. We know that many people in this nation and around the world are hurting. Please take care of them, Lord, even as you take care of us. Grant them food, shelter, good health, peace, joy and the knowledge of your love. Inspire us to help others too.

We ask these things in the name of Jesus.

Amen.

Giving our lives joyfully in witness and service!.

Grace and Peace!
