The Non-Violence Project is a non-profit that was founded in 1996 and since inception has reached over 700,000 young people with there comprehensive services. 

  

Their mission is to use nonviolence education and advocate policy change to prevent youth violence.  They are grant supported and are currently funded to provide programs in fourteen middle and senior high schools.  Their programs involve one-on-one mentoring, after school clubs, gender specific sessions during school hours and conducting community service projects. They are proud to state that annually they sponsor over 10,000 service hours with the students.

  

The Non-Violence Project has been very fortunate to be recognized many times with awards such as the Daily Points of Light, Best of the Best in Public Safety from Volunteer Florida, Inducted into the Board of Sponsors at Morehouse College, Novo Award from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce as the Best non-profit in Miami-Dade County, five Awards of Honor from the National Safety Council and Best Practice from the Governor's Drug Free Communities.
