The Times They Are a-Changin'

Bob Dylan wasn't talkin' about Daylight Savings, but it's that time again.  And with it comes another change - the season.  Be ready with these smart tips...

Time to Take Care of These 7 Things

Changing the clock is a good time for these seasonal or annual reminders: Smoke Alarm

Home-Safety Devices - Replace batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors (don't forget flashlights, too) and inspect pressure gauges on fire extinguishers.

Food Supplies - Check for expired dates in the pantry to discard.  And don't forget the freezer...is it a "Hotel California" where foods check in - but they never check out?

Filters - Vacuum and clean grates, coils, and condensers on furnaces, refrigerators, stoves, and air conditioners.  Clean or replace filters in furnaces and air conditioners.

Fans - Ceiling fans?  Clean and tighten blades that may have worked loose during last year's use.

Gutters need cleaning

Gutters - Clear winter debris to keep gutters working properly and to prevent bigger problems caused by clogging.

Windows - Wipe winter off your view of the world.  Remember to clean screens and window coverings, too.

Clothes - Make a wardrobe check as you bring out warm-weather clothing. Sort winter clothing for discards and donations before you store.Doctor's appointment

BONUS:  Your Health - You take care of everything and everyone, but what about you?  Schedule that screening or preventive care appointment you've been putting off.

4 Hard-to-Find Items: Look No More

Don't waste any more time looking.  With these easy tips, it's Finders Keepers...

Sheets Pillow Cases

SHEETS: Where's the Bottom?  - Find the complete and correct set of sheets in a jiffy by tucking each sheet set inside one of its pillowcases.  Stack them according to size (twin, full, queen, king) or by the room you use them in (master bedroom, guest room).

WALLET: I Know It's In Here - Always digging for your wallet?  A brightly colored wallet is easier to spot in a handbag.

MY GLASSES: I Just Had Them - Keep reading glasses, scissors and other frequently-used items in each place where you use them.  For example, reading glasses might be kept at the computer (both home and office), by the bed, in your purse, and in the kitchen and bathroom.Keys colorful

KEYS: Which One? - Differentiate your keys by color-coding them.  Slip-on coders can be purchased wherever keys are copied.  Nail polish works as a quick alternative...Lay keys flat and apply a thick coat of a different shade to the top of each one.

Unleash your inner Ferris Bueller.  Call us today to take care of your home or personal projects. (We'll plan a monthly package that's you-sized.)  Then enjoy your Spring!
