The Groundhog's verdict: Six More Weeks of Winter! Winter, of course, is relative. But there are some things about the season we all share: |

5 Simple Ways to Say "I Love You"
| | |
Grand gestures have their place, but love can also be said in little ways. Here are 5 clever ideas for writing love notes - on Valentine's or any day - and adaptable for any special person in your life.
Eat Your Words: Spell it out with raisins or nuts on oatmeal, syrup on pancakes, or squeezable butter/jelly on toast.
Fun & Games: Pull out the Scrabble tiles to spell out your message. Or write, "You're the king/queen of my heart" on the appropriate card from an old deck.

Mirror, Mirror: Declare your love by writing with lipstick - or a bar of dry soap - on the mirror.
Hide-away: Write just a word or phrase on several Post-its. Tuck them where they're sure to be found...on the toothpaste tube, in the briefcase or purse, on the coffee mug, on the front page of the newspaper, on the dashboard, in the running shoes.
Send it by Snail: Mail a "secret admirer" note to your loved one at their workplace. (Psst, Ladies - you can also "kiss" the note with fresh lipstick and/or add a spritz of fragrance!) |

7 Easy Tips to Beat the Winter Blahs | | |
If you're feeling tired and draggy, craving carbs and sweets, and packing on the pounds, blame it on the season. Fewer daylight hours and other seasonal inconveniences can take its toll mentally and physically. Here's help to ward off those winter woes.
Let There Be Light: Sure, it's still dark outside when that alarm goes off. But having a light on a timer, welcoming you to the day, makes it easier to get going.
Wake Up & Smell The Coffee: Set your coffeemaker to turn on a few minutes before you rise. The aroma will beckon you out of that night-long hibernation.
Good Morning, Sunshine: Open blinds and window coverings to let in as much light as possible...at home and the office.
Plan an Escape: Lunchtime is too precious to spend it inside the office building. A brief, brisk walk - even if it's just to your car - will lift your spirits. And if the walk is in the sunshine, all the better.
Put More on Your Plate: Fruits and veggies, that is...especially enjoy seasonal treats at their peak now, like winter squash, grapefruit and clementines. They'll help reduce your craving for those carbs and sweets that leave you feeling sleepy, bloated and lacking in energy.
Get What's Bloomin': Pick up fresh flowers from a local shop to add beauty and pizzazz wherever you'll enjoy them most.
Catch Some Zzzz's: Just not too many. Do get your beauty rest, but when you overdo it (as may be tempting on these longer nights), you'll actually feel groggy throughout the day instead of refreshed.
