It may seem that Valentine's Day has become another big commercial holiday. But you don't have to buy into that. Here are easy ways to make a magical day, full of loving expressions:
Write a Love Note: Sure, a store-bought card is nice, but don't let a card company do all the talking. In your own handwriting, tell what your sweetheart really means to you, why you'd choose them all over again. List things they do that you appreciate, as well as character and personality qualities you love. A card or a letter like that will be cherished.
Place Post-its Around: - On each page write loving words and then place them on the bathroom mirror, in a drawer, on the computer keyboard, on the pillow, in a briefcase, on the car visor...anywhere your sweetheart will be sure to find.
Give Love Vitamins: Write words of love on dot stickers (the size used for garage sale pricing). Place the "love dots" on the bottom of Hershey Kisses. Fill a container with the Kisses to give to your sweetie with instructions to enjoy "one a day."
Create a crossword puzzle using as clues "inside Information" only the two of you know about. Go to puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com and create a FREE customized crossword that incorporates words and clues from your relationship.
Put Your Love on the Map: Print a map of your city and draw a heart over your location with a note saying something like "Home is where the heart is" or "Love awaits you at (your address)."
BONUS: Send a note of affection to your love's mom or dad with thanks for raising such a wonderful person. Your sweetheart will certainly hear about it. |
