Greetings!

While beach parties and bikinis may not fit with the lifestyle (or body!) we have now, Spring Break still beckons!

So, it's good to know you can refresh and relax - at any age...without exposing a lot of skin.  (Thank goodness!)
SPRING BREAK

...for Grown-ups

This Spring, take a break from the usual
   woman smiling
*SMILE more:  It does make people wonder what you've been up to. Take a walk through the mall, the park or your office - wherever there are people.  Smile at them as they pass; see how many smile back.  Now that's POWER.

* Exercise your brain:   Read at least one non-fiction book; play Scrabble to win; do Sudoku to get the old internal calculator running.

a simple updo*Change up your "do":  Try a new haircut or new hair color for Spring. Too bold?  Maybe just pull it back or put it up for a change to show off your neck.

* New exercise:  If you're a diehard aerobic person, try a pilates class and see how working that core makes you stand up straighter.  If you're already into yoga and pilates, try a spin class.  If you rarely get moving, just take a walk in your neighborhood or the park and enjoy the new flowers that are coming into bloom.

*Revive the  wardrobe:  Go shopping for one new outfit, piece or accessory.  Think Spring and bold colors.  While you're at it, stop by the make-up counter and add a new shade of lip color to your palette, too!

*Add more music and laughter to your life:  Make a date with your music collection, just to dance and be happy. Set aside time to watch a funny movie at the end of the day. (Just anticipating the laughs will generate endorphins!)

*Learn something new: By yourself or with a buddy, take a class for fun - culinary arts, dance, flower arranging, music lessons...whatever you'll enjoy.

*Go Green for St. Patrick's Day!  Try the reusable grocery bags, turn down the thermostat when you leave for the day and change to fluorescent bulbs to do your part.

Lights, Camera...PARTY!

IT'S OSCAR TIME!

The 82nd Academy Awards will be held Sunday, March 7th.
 Let's Party!

Set the Stage:  Planning an OSCAR party is a snap - your TV will be your centerpiece, so you just need to add extra seating with some director's chairs and roll out the red carpet to make your guests feel as special as a celebrity when they arrive.

Food:  Keep the menu simple with a spiral cut ham, tiny rolls and gourmet mustards. Caesar salad has been a Hollywood favorite since the 1920s, and star-shaped cookies can round out the meal.

In honor of the movies, give each guest an individual bag of popcorn to snack on during the show and have bowls of classic movie-theater snacks on hand.

Keep it Fun:  Print out ballots to give each guest one and have plenty of pens available.  Have a grand prize for the person with the most winners and a smaller prize for the person with the most wrong (to keep it fair for the non-movie-buffs!)

During those long commercial breaks, play Oscar-themed games. (oscars.org for ballots, games and other ideas)

Today's lifestyle forces many of us to burn the candle at both ends, as they say, so now, more than ever, it's vitally important to take a Spring Break.  Rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit for a healthier, happier you.
