Fall Sports
Boys Modified
Soccer
Coach:  Tim Murphy

The Boys Modified Soccer team has been steadily improving against teams that are usually larger than our own.  The current record is 1 win, 4 losses.  The last two losses have been by one goal, but the boys have "kept their heads high" despite some adverse circumstances.  Jake Kopylczak is the leading scorer on the team.  Zach Roberts, Zach Beckhusen, and Broderick Bowden have been sharing the goalie duties.  Jon Bennett and Jeffrey Camloh have been anchoring the middle of the field.

Cross Country

Coach: Janet Loch

The highlight for the XC team this year is that for the first time in many years FHS has been able to compete as a team for both the boys and the girls! In XC you need a minimum of 5 boys to score as a team; you need a minimum of 5 girls to score as a team.  It has been about 10 years since we have had BOTH a full boys and a full girls team!  (Team member photo in the Homecoming article to the right)

 Team records are:

Boys 2 - 5

Girls 5 - 3

The 'veteran' varsity runners -Jeremy Schep,
Miriam Camloh, Jordan Neider, and Elinore Loch,  have all run faster times than last year.

Jordan won the boy's race in our first league meet of the season, at home.  Elinore won the girl's race this week at LaFayette.

Ben Masten continues to improve as the only modified runner on the team.

Neal Capone
Headmaster Neal Capone serving sandwiches with former Board Chairman Paul Honess.  It was a special day in the lunch line-- new items such as bacon & pepperoni were added to the menu following a student survey.

New Headmaster Neal Capone officially started his position at Faith Heritage on September 26th.  Neal, a 1990 FHS alum, is already immersing himself in all of his official duties at the school, as well as joining former Board Chairman Paul Honess on Fridays to make the famous Honess Sandwiches"My goal in these first few weeks is to get to know the Faith Heritage community and to see firsthand what makes this school tick," says Neal Capone.  "It has been a pleasure visiting classrooms and seeing some of the tremendous instruction taking place.  I have also thoroughly enjoyed and learned a great deal by talking with families, staff, teachers, and students.  It is hard to miss the excitement and anticipation as we sense the Holy Spirit's presence and know that great things are ahead for FHS!"

On Tuesday, September 27th, eight FHS 10th-graders (Jonathan Ballard, Tamarah Beam, Natalie Camloh, Gabby Capone, Nicholas Hills, Jeszara Lee, Elinore Loch, and Ben Tyrrell) attended the Genetic Update Conference at Corcoran High School.  The presenter was Dr. Sam Rhine from Indiana University.  Dr. Rhine travels the country presenting some of the latest research in genetics and medicine to high school students.  Some of the topics covered that day included: the human genome, development of the human embryo, different types of stem cells, many types of cancer, and possible cures for cancer. The students returned with their brains crammed with lots of interesting, exciting, and even controversial cutting-edge information.

"Taste & See that the Lord is Good"
Fourth Grade Food Service Project!

Taste
Mrs. Doyle's 4th grade class had a great week celebrating how the Lord provides.  The class went to Kubecka Farms where they harvested many large crates of vegetables which the farm generously donated to their project.  The next day, the class brought the vegetables to the Valley Worship Center to stock their food pantry.  The students packed bags of food, and included notes of scripture to nourish the soul as well.  The students were even able to personally hand the bags to food pantry visitors.  "Students got to see the whole process of how God provides," says Mrs. Doyle. "From how God makes things grow in the garden, and then how He uses people to help others in need...seeing the whole picture was really a blessing."

40 Years of Generosity! 40th Anniversary Logo

Praise the Lord!  Faith Heritage School is celebrating 40 years of providing Christian education in Central New York!  What a privilege it has been to serve the Lord in this way!

Our guiding scripture for this special anniversary year is from Deuteronomy 2:7. "These forty years the LORD your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything."  It is a powerful verse, reminding us that just as the Lord led our founders into uncharted territory, He has provided for our needs every step of the way.

Over the years, the Lord's provision through His people has helped us expand our program beyond the traditional classroom.  Besides providing a college preparatory education, we have been blessed to enjoy programs like varsity sports, a traveling vocal ensemble, and a spring musical.   And last year we were able to embark on a Technology Revolution to keep our school up to date with the latest technology.  Over $30,000 was contributed in the first year of this three-year initiative, keeping us on target with our goals.   It is amazing to think of all that the Lord has provided!

Contribute
Click the above box to connect to the FHS Website where you can make a secure online donation.

As we launch this year's Annual Fund, we rejoice that God has always provided for our "daily bread" as well.  Tuition only covers about 75% of what is needed to pay our teachers, heat our school, and provide classroom supplies.   The other 25% comes through gifts from individuals, businesses and special event fundraisers.  Our goal for this year is $300,000.

Please prayerfully consider a gift for our school this year.  Your faithfulness makes such a difference to our future graduates.  We praise the Lord for His goodness through our first 40 years, and place our trust in Him as we educate the next generation of Faith Heritage Saints.  To God be the Glory!
