Greetings!
As September begins there's still plenty of time for an Indian Summer, much needed by the Canbury Crew teams taking part in the delayed Kingston Rotary Club Dragon Boat Challenge 9th September and the 21 mile Great River Race 15th September. We've been training hard and are looking forward to trying to hold on to our titles! We are raising money for Kingston Bereavement Service, a charity we have supported over the last year, visit our Just Giving page for more information.
There are some exciting events coming up at the pub. The first being a photographic exhibition by Canbury Studio, our neighbours, who have relocated to their purpose built studio across the road. On 13th September 5pm-8pm, there will be a 'Private View, an open invitation to all our customers to meet the photographers and have a complimentary glass of wine. The photographs will be a mix of portraits, landscapes and reportage, some relating directly to The Canbury Arms, others to our local community in all it's glory! On 17th September we present a South African Wine Tasting with a 3 course dinner to pair with the wine. Brian Smith from Elgin Ridge will be here, relating tales of a biodynamic wine producer, including how his ducks are an essential part of his team! In addition, Charlotte Deane from Wined Up Here will be with us for the evening, taking us through some of her other interesting South African wines. Book your place now for what is certainly going to be a convivial evening, tickets for the event are selling fast so please be sure to register here. September brings some seasonal changes to our à la carte menu, and the daily specials board will, as always, have delicious 'limited edition' dishes everyday. Our Fixed Price menu continues to be a roaring success, Monday evening is an especially good time to take advantage of it with the bonus of 20% off all wines every Monday night!

The final inter schools quiz is on 19th September and Latchmere School will be quiz masters. This marks the end of the event at the pub. Following a great deal of interest from other customers wishing to attend a quiz night, we will change the format to a quarterly, open invitation quiz evening, details to follow shortly.
