Welcome to our November Newsletter and I hope you find something of interest.
I have included two vouchers for you at the bottom of the page which you may print off and use as often as you like throughout November as stipulated. You may wish to come and try some of our new wines on our latest list or some of the new dishes due next week on our menu. I'm particularly looking forward to trying the Artichoke, Pancetta and Poached Duck Egg Salad, the Calves Liver and Bacon and Roast Duck Breast with Braised Red Cabbage, Dauphinoise and Blueberry Jus.

THE CANBURY SINGERS PLUS SUPPORT ACT ARTICULATE JAZZ SUNDAY 22nd November 7.30pm - 10.30pm (FREE ENTRY)
The Canbury singers have evolved into a 30 strong choir and are here to entertain with a stunning repertoir. Also supported by Articulate Jazz, this is definately not one to be missed.
Seating in the pub will be tight and dining space will be limited in favour of cabaret style seating and drinks available on a first come first served basis for those wanting to enjoy the entertainment.
If you are planning on just eating, reservations will be made in the awning area.

WE ARE LIMITED TO SPACE FOR A MAXIMUM OF 11 TEAMS of 8. ANY SCHOOLS NOT ALREADY INVOLVED BUT WOULD LIKE TO BE, ALONG WITH THOSE ALREADY INVOLVED, YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR TEAM FOR INCLUSION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BY EMAILING michael@thecanburyarms.com. THE FIRST 11 TEAMS REGISTERED WILL PLAY. SCHOOLS MAY SUBMIT 2 TEAMS FOR ENTRY BUT THE B TEAM CAN ONLY BE INCLUDED IF THERE ARE FEWER THAN 11 FIRST TEAMS REGISTERED. The next quiz will be on Wednesday 25th November 2009 at 8.00pm for 8.30pm. Quizmasters for the evening will be Alexandra.
We are just one quiz in to the 2009/10 season with last seasons Champions St. Luke's kicking off with another victory. Despite a two point handicap, they finished 3 points clear of St John's.

Where two teams are entered from one school, the best score counts to the overall school points tally - so
St Luke's - 10 points St John's - 6 points Latchmere - 5 points Fernhill - 4 points St Agatha's - 3 points King Athelstan - 2 points Alexandra - 1 point
1. Current schools involved are St Luke's, St Agatha's, St John's, Fern Hill, Latchmere, Alexandra, King Athelstan however if your school is not involved and you want to be please contact michael@thecanburyarms.com.
2. There is space for 11 teams of 8 only on a first come first served basis. Schools may enter two teams if they wish. Please let me know the name of your school and the number of teams you are entering as soon as possible.
3. The cost to each player remains £5 with 100% of the money making up the prize fund.
4. The prize money is split and presented to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Where there is a pot of £400, 1st will take £250.00 2nd £100 and 3rd £50. All runner up teams will be presented with a £20 Canbury Arms Voucher so no one goes away empty handed!
All prizes are for the benefit of your school PFA/PSA to improve facilities for your children.
5. The school with the highest score at the end of the series will take the title of brainiest parents in Kingston!
6. We are introducing a handicap system. The winners of each quiz will commence the next quiz on minus 2 points. Back to back wins will incur an extra handicap point each time. Once you have been beaten your points revert back to 0. St Luke's start the next quiz on minus 3 points.
