I would like to thank all those customers that provided me with some very helpful suggestions following my request for feedback. We have already implemented many of the suggestions made and in due course will incorporate the rest. A £10 Canbury Arms Voucher is awaiting collection for all those who responded.

Following our success at the Kingston Business Champions Awards in May, I am delighted to announce that we have been short listed for two more awards!

The first is the hospitality industry's equivalent of an OSCAR which is a CATEY. We have been shortlisted for The Best Independant Marketing Campaign Award at tonights awards ceremony in London.

The second is The Great British Pub Awards 2009 and we have been shortlisted in the Pub of the Year Catergory. The Awards take place in London in September.

Win or lose, I am delighted for this recognition which is testimony to the hard work and commitment of all the team here at The Canbury Arms but most of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank every one of our customers for your continued support and input in helping me make The Canbury Arms what it is.

Thank you and cheers!

Michael

The next quiz will be on Wednesday 16th September 2009 at 8.00pm for 8.30pm. Quizmasters for the evening will be St Agatha's.

The evening will commence with a trophy presentation to St Luke's School as winners of the 2008/2009 season.

Following the presentation, the quiz will start under a brand new format with a new league table...

1. Current schools involved are St Luke's, St Agatha's, St John's, Fern Hill, Latchmere, Alexandra, King Athelstan however if your school is not involved and you want to be please contact michael@thecanburyarms.com.

2. There is space for 11 teams of 8 only on a first come first served basis. Schools may enter two teams if they wish. Please let me know the name of your school and the number of teams you are entering as soon as possible.

3. The cost to each player remains £5 with 100% of the money making up the prize fund.

4. The prize money from now on will be split and presented to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places as opposed to the previous winner takes all format. Where there is a pot of £400, 1st will take £250.00 2nd £100 and 3rd £50. All runner up teams will be presented with a £20 Canbury Arms Voucher so no one goes away empty handed!
All prizes are for the benefit of your school PFA/PSA to improve facilities for your children.

5. Points will be awarded to all teams according to where they finish. 10 for a win 9 for second place 8 for third 7 for 4th etc. The school with the highest score at the end of the series will take the title of brainiest parents in Kingston!

6. We are introducing a handicap system. The winners of each quiz will commence the next quiz on minus 5 points. This is with immediate effect and so St Luke's start the new series on minus 5 points.

I will be delighted to answer any questions you may have or suggestions you would like to make.
