With a Rare Heart Defect |
Dear Family & Friends,
As some of you know we recently returned to the States for the birth of our son. After much anticipation he was born on July 17. Less than three days later we took him to the emergency room because he was dehydrated, had a slight fever and was breathing rapidly. . We anticipated at most a few days in the hospital for him to mend, and for us to be reunited as a family. But Justin's symptoms had a major underlying problem. On Friday, our doctor informed us that he has a rare heart defect alled Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return (TAPVR) which will require open heart surgery. Our little guy is just five days old at the time of this writing, and news is traveling fast of our need for a miracle. His surgery is not yet scheduled and preliminary tests are still being run; however, doctors anticipate that he will undergo surgery by the end of this week. To better communicate with you all I decided to create a website for Justin through CaringBridge.org. Click here to visit his site and stay up to date on his condition in his Journal. Thanks for all of the prayers, notes of encouragement, visits, care packages and offerings sent during this challenging time for our family. |
