Barraclough Family PictureDear Friends,
First of all, we are writing to tell you that WE HAVE ARRIVED IN PERÚ.  We are so thankful to finally be here to begin missionary ministry. We appreciate the role you have played in the blossoming of God's will for our lives in Perú through your prayers and support of our ministry.

Madre_de_Dios_Jungle Our Arrival in Perú
We arrived in the beautiful and heavily congested coastal city of Lima, Peru on November 3rd, dog-tired after a full day of travel.
Since that time we are pressing forward with our applications for resident missions work to the government of Perú.  It is possible that Judith and I will receive our residency before the end of the year.  Then, we must solicit the government for our children's residency.
Please continue to pray that all goes well with our applications for residency and that we are granted residency quickly.  With the holidays upon us, things tend to slow down here, but we remain extremely optimistic that this very necessary phase of beginning ministry will soon be achieved.

Seasons
As the cold weather settles in across America, we are just beginning the Summer season here in Perú, although it has been quite cool here in Lima.  Since we packed no thicker clothes, we froze the first few weeks.  With warmer weather beginning, it does seem to confound the normal sentiments we would feel during the holiday season, but we are so glad to spend it here in Perú.

Giving Thanks for Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving Dinner was our first opportunity to host Peruvian friends at our new rent home. Of course, we had to improvise quite a bit to pull off the big dinner. The menu was as follows:  Chicken (not turkey), homemade stuffing that didn't turn out too well, homemade cornbread that was a big hit, sweet potato casserole, strawberry fluff (which we affectionately call "pink stuff"), and homemade pecan pie. We enjoyed the opportunity to host friends in our host country.  And conversely, the believers here have been extremely helpful to us in so many ways!

Lots of other little things have brought a few challanges, like tummy troubles, fevers with the children, and just settling in and firing up homeschool again.  Thanks for your prayers!!!
