A Vision of a Vision
Recently, while we were praying in our evening devotions, the Presence of the Lord filled the room. I had sensed for a few days that the Lord was going to give us our answer on whether He was calling us to Perú or not. The anticipation was building.
As I was raising my hands and praising the Lord, I suddenly had a vision. In the vision, the Spirit of the Lord carried me high up into the sky. I looked around and saw mountain peeks and then watched as they fell behind me. Now, I was looking down on a vast jungle area.
As I l beheld that sea of green, all of a sudden lights began to build on the jungle floor and shoot heavenward, passing me with incredible speed. I asked the Lord what the lights were. He replied, "These are the praises of the Indians as they rise to my throne."
As quick as the vision had begun, it was over. But, I knew that we had our answer! We knew by the vision and the witness of God's Spirit that He was calling us to labor in the Amazon Jungle.
The vision was undeniable, but God's vision within the vision I saw was clear: God longs for the praises and the fellowship of these Indians that sit in darkness. |

Family News Excitement is also building on two more fronts. As we itinerate to raise our budget to go to Perú, we are also in the process of obtaining Judith's U.S. citizenship. This should drastically reduce some of the difficulties we've experienced in the past in both U.S. Immigrations and in immigration offices in other countries. |
Marvelous Provision
Another prayer meeting was the occasion of obtaining direction from the Lord. As I was praying one night, the Lord spoke to me, saying, "The time is now to submit Judith's application." I mused in my heart how we would be able to submit the naturalization application knowing that we lacked the application fee; but, the following Sunday in a missions service we conducted in Kansas, the Pastor, a longtime friend, asked if Judith had received her citizenship yet. I responded, "Not yet." He asked what was lacking and when I told him that the only thing we lacked was the application fee, he smiled and said, "You might be closer than you think." Over lunch that afternoon, he handed me a check and told us to take the application fee out of the check. Four days later Judtih's application was in the mail!
A Boy or a Girl? We are also expecting another baby. Judith is 16 weeks pregnant this week, maintaning a combination of voracious appetite and morning sickness. She has had what might be light contractions a few times. Everything seems fine with the baby, and we are thankful. Your prayers are appreciated. |
