5th Annual R.O.C.K.S. Program Sedona youth experience the Honanki Ruins
During January and February, Sedona area 4th graders took part in the 5th Annual R.O.C.K.S. program.
Developed by Pink Jeep Tours, the complimentary Off-Road Learning Program called R.O.C.K.S. (Reinforcing Our Children's Knowledge of Sedona) combines the thrill of an off-road adventure with fun and educational activities that encourage a love of nature and a respect for fragile eco-systems.
Three schools participated -- West Sedona School, Oak Creek School and Big Park School. Nearly 130 students toured!
New this year, Pink Jeep Tours included a complimentary pocket Field
Guide for each of the students. This guide was created by our very own
Pink Jeep employees. It contains names and photos of various local
plants and wildlife found in the red rock country of Sedona.
Below, is a note from the teachers from West Sedona School: Dear Pink Jeep Tours, Thanks so much for another fantastic Pink Jeep adventure! The students raved about how much fun they had and argued about who had the best driver/guide. We are so blessed to have a wonderful company such as yours who gives back in so many ways to our community! We, too, are fortunate that West Sedona School's 4th graders are the recipients of some of that generosity! The students learned so much and had a wonderful time. Thanks again!
-- Lou Anne, Linda and all their 4th graders
Quotes from some of the 4th graders:
1) "We had the best field trip of our lives!" 2) "I couldn't believe how much fun it was!" 3) "We saw ancient ruins, I couldn't believe my eyes!"
