Chandra and Jimmie Announce Nearly $1 Million in Funding for Education in Partnership with Lowe's Toolbox for Education®
On November 30th, Chandra and Jimmie announced donations totaling $922,000 for the 2009 Jimmie Johnson Foundation/Lowe's Toolbox for Education Champions Grants in California, North Carolina and Oklahoma.
The grants include $347,000 towards science and technology needs, $357,000 for outdoor classrooms, playgrounds and athletic facilities, $27,000 for accelerated reading programs among others.
"It was amazing to review the proposals and read first hand about the pressing needs of our schools. The funding requests were so diverse," said Chandra Johnson, co-founder of the Jimmie Johnson Foundation. "I am particularly excited about the projects in Oklahoma as this is our first opportunity to give back in my hometown."

Racing for the 2010 Grand
Am Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 30th and 31st. Jimmie will reunite with teammates Alex Gurney, Jon Fogarty, and Jimmy Vasser for the season-opening race. The team finished second in their first Rolex 24 together with GAINSCO in 2008 and backed it up with a seventh-place finish in January 2009 in America's premier endurance race.
