 Welcome Back!

admissions Welcome back to the 2008-2009 ICJA school year. We especially welcome the more than 100 new students joining the Academy family.

Last week, incoming freshmen enjoyed a full day of student orientation to "learn the ropes." Pictured are freshmen during a pizza lunch.

Thanks to our senior leaders for making the day a success and to Mrs. Rivkah Rabin, director of admissions, for all of her hard work.

We hope that the site will be extremely useful to parents and community members, with features such as: a monthly calendar, event registration, photo albums and news.

 Alumni Picnic

picnic All the families and individuals who joined ICJA at the Aug. 17 Alumni Picnic in Skokie had a blast. The picnic featured a bar-b-que, face painting, a train ride, prizes and treats. The highlight of the afternoon was when the Skokie fire department came to cool everyone off with their hose at full blast.

View photos on our website.

Thanks to the picnic chairs, committee members and staff for all of their hard work. See you next summer!

 Senior Joins Distinguished Science Program

ICJA senior Ricky Silberman was selected to participate in the Legacy Heritage Internships for Young Scientists (LHIYS), a science-focused leadership development program awarded to brilliant Jewish high school students with demonstrated scientific aptitude and achievement in the community.

Ricky was among only 29 students from across the United States and Israel selected for the program. He and the other Interns recently completed a rigorous six-week summer program in Israel--working with preeminent scientists in the laboratories of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, touring Israel and learning about their Jewish heritage.
