A Little Furry Vengeance Goes A Long Way
Furry Vengeance

Variety the Children's Charity of Texas and Studio Movie Grill are pleased to announce the next film in its Special Needs Screening Series.

Since Variety began its partnership with Studio Movie Grill in October 2006, Variety has made it possible for more than 6,500 special needs children and siblings to see first-run family friendly films in a comfortable environment of their peers. And, the raised lighting and lowered sound volume theatre makes for a setting conducive no matter what the child's condition.
This Saturday, May 1, Variety will make it possible to countless special needs children to see Furry Vengeance. The film will be screened at Studio Movie Grill locations in Arlington, Lewsiville, Houston (CityCentre and Copperfield), Lewisville and Plano.

Another Year Worthy of An Honor
Variety of Texas is pleased, and honored, to have been named one of a select group of Variety programs in the world to be named a finalist for a Variety Heart Award.
Finalists and eventual award winners are selected based upon a very stringent set of six criteria:
          1) Consistency and Growth in Net Funds Raised
          2) Consistency and Improvement in Net Funds Raised as a Percentage of Gross Revenue
          3) Consistency and Improvement in Administrative Expense as a Percentage of Net Revenue
          4) Consistency and Total Charitable Grants as a Percentage of Net Funds Raised
          5) Innovation
          6) Convention Presentation
Variety of Texas last won one of these prestigious awards in 1998 (Gold). It would take until 2008 for Texas to be named a finalist again.
Ten great Variety programs from across the globe are up for one of the three awards this year. But, Variety of Texas can claim something that not a single one of the nine other nominated programs can...we have been nominated each of the past three years.
Congratulations from Variety of Texas to the other nominees:
      - Iowa (2009's Gold Award Winner)
      - Israel
      - New South Wales, Australia
      - New Zealand
      - Northern Territory, Australia
      - Southern California
      - St. Louis (2008's Silver Award Winner)
      - Texas
      - Western Australia
      - Wisconsin
Here's hoping the third time is the charm.
