| Death Eaters (And All the Others) Do Some Good for Special Needs Children |

The Morning News called it the event of the weekend due to the opportunity it presented to a select group of individuals to see it before the lines started. Well...at least we thought it would be before the lines started.
You see, the 7:00pm start time did not faze anyone. Especially when the line started forming at 1:00pm. Who knew a choice of seats was worth a six hour wait in line. But, that is exactly what it meant to some dedicated college students from the Denton area, and a family of four from Austin.
With support from Warner Brothers, Cinemark, The Dallas Morning News, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, not to mention the more than 450 ticket holders, over $16,000 was raised with a net of more than $12,000 going to support the special needs children that take part in Peaceable Kingdom's programs.

On June 6th, Variety and the Dallas Summer Musicals welcomed in a group of inner city females to see their first live stage production. What makes this group unique is that they all lived within walking distance of the very theatre they were going to see the production.
As part of the Dallas Summer Musicals Seats for Kids program, Variety partnered with Young Life to provide the group of 25 young women with a special day capped off by seeing Happy Days.
What made the event even more memorable was the opportunity to meet Mr. Garry Marshall himself, and listen to his stories of the original show and the background of this new musical. That's the kind of thing that happens when you sit right behind him in the audience. |
