In Tantric tradition a woman's time of menstruation is one of the most auspicious and powerful times to engage in spiritual practice (sadhana).  It is said the Kundalini energy opens once a month when a woman bleeds. In the traditions of Shakti, a practitioner moves with the benefits of these intrinsic rhythms and allows their flow to help facilitate a deep and meditative state.

 In the Native American traditions this time of practice is called a Moonlodge. Brooke Medicine Eagle writes, " The information received as the menses begins in the clearest human picture from within the womb of the Great Mystery, of the unknown and our future. Among our dreaming peoples, the most prophetic dreams and visions (of the coming of the white peoples and other such almost incomprehensible changes) were brought to the people through the Moon Lodge. In other words, the most useful information that can come to us (at a time when we are unrolling an incredible new future) comes from each of you women who use your moon time well. Conversely, for each of us who do not honor this time, much is lost, including the respect of others for our bleeding. My call to you is to begin now to honor your moon time, to come together in small hoops and create Moon Lodges-communal women's retreats and meditation rooms-for the beauty, for the quiet, for the transparent veil. Dedicate yourself to the quest for vision that will guide us and our families at this time."

 This one day workshop is an answer to the call of Brooke Medicine Eagle from the Tantric Tradition. This will be a one day experience for both the beginning and advanced practitioner.  The moonlodge sadhana will be a graceful weaving of re-framing and reclaiming the connection of our blood to our spiritual path. Women will part from the day with inspiration , information and enough experience to facilitate their own moonday sadhanas in personal practice. Our time together will include:

 -Information on the Tantric orientation to the blood mysteries

-Teachings on Kali, support practices for moontime of herb, teas, oils, etc.

-Teachings on auspiciousness of doing sadhana on moontime

-Movement practices that are restful, nourishing and rejuvenating.

 This workshop is also applicable for women who have moved into menopause. Teachings on moon sadhana will be relevant for women who are "holding their blood".
