Campaign Accelerate

A generous supporter has issued a challenge: If we raise $125,000 in individual donations by the end of this year, he will donate $250,000 to neuroendocrine cancer research! That means for every dollar donated, three dollars will go directly to funding critical research. Donate today so you don't miss this rare opportunity to triple the impact of your gift!

Scientists: Apply for a 2012 CFCF/AACR Grant

medical symbolThe Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF) is proud to announce a new neuroendocrine tumor research grant opportunity made possible by the continued collaboration with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). CFCF and AACR are working together to increase the understanding of neuroendocrine tumor biology, elucidate the mechanisms of currently available therapies, and identify new treatment targets for carcinoid and pancreatic neuroendocrine cancers.

We expect to award a minimum of two grants of $250,000 each, paid over a two year period.  We are seeking investigators pursuing innovative ideas and approaches that have a direct application and relevance to carcinoid cancer or pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer. Applications are invited from researchers currently in the field, as well as from investigators with experience in other areas of cancer research.

For further details or to apply please see the Program Guidelines. Applications will be accepted until January 17, 2012.

CFCF Kicks Off 2012 Patient Education Series

Los Angeles

For the 4th consecutive year, CFCF will return to Los Angeles for an exciting half-day patient education event focusing on new treatment options for patients, advances in liver-directed therapies, and our first-ever patient-moderated panel focusing on medical and non-medical approaches to living with cancer. Join us on Saturday, March 17 for an afternoon of education and fellowship at the Thalians Auditorium at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

As part of our planned weekend, Team CFCF will once again be participating in the LA Marathon & 5K to raise vitally needed funds for research. Whether you're a garden variety walker, or a hard core athlete, there is something for everyone at the LA Marathon & 5K. The 5K takes place on Saturday morning, March 17; the marathon is on Sunday, March 18. Click here for more information.
Add Your Voice to CFCF's Doctor Database

Doctor and Patient CFCF believes that all neuroendocrine tumor patients have the right to access all information needed to make informed decisions regarding their care. We also recognize that choosing a physician is a critical factor in the quality of patient care.

The CFCF Doctor Database serves as a comprehensive listing of doctors across a wide variety of medical specialties. Every doctor comes recommended by one or more neuroendocrine cancer patients. Many even have links to live patient references.

Don't see your physicans? Consider adding them to the database. CFCF's Doctor Database only includes physicians recommended by you and your fellow patients.

If you are interested in serving as a patient reference for one or more doctors, please e-mail Frances for more information.

CFCF is grateful to all the wonderful doctors and patients who have contributed to our Doctor Database and benefited the neuroendocrine tumor community.
