Congrats, 2011 World NET Day Sunflower Grantees

SunflowerThe Caring for Carcinoid Foundation awarded its first Sunflower Grants in 2008 to support patient-centered programs promoting neuroendocrine cancer awareness, advocacy, and education.

Our 2011 Sunflower Grants program was announced to coincide with the 2nd Annual Worldwide NET Cancer Awareness Day on November 10, 2011. All carcinoid, pancreatic neuroendocrine, and related neuroendocrine cancer patient support groups were encouraged to apply.

The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2011 Worldwide NET Awareness Day Sunflower Grants:

Each group was awarded a grant to support patients and raise awareness of neuroendocrine cancers. Sunflower Grant-funded programming includes the creation of educational brochures, informational displays, local celebration events, website design, and software for video conferences.

"The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation has put us on the map! Our heartfelt thanks for their support for both our first patient conference and granting the funds for posters and brochures to display at our Worldwide NET Cancer Awareness Day exhibit. Receiving a Sunflower Grant is quite a recognition," says Suzi Garber, President of Delaware Valley Carcinoid/NETs Connection.

The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation will continue its Sunflower Grants program in 2012. Click here for more information or to apply for a 2012 grant.
