Founder Nancy Lindholm in June ABA Journal

When Nancy Lindholm founded the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation in 2005, one of her goals was to spare patients the lonely feeling of fighting an incurable disease with few options for treatment.
Nancy's experience battling carcinoid cancer has made her a strong advocate for patients with carcinoid, pancreatic neuroendocrine, and related neuroendocrine cancers. Nancy has also used her story to inspire all of us to stay active, give back, and embrace life to the fullest. In the lead story of the June issue of ABA Journal, Nancy discusses the importance of both health and disability insurance, and why they're a 'must' for everyone. You can find Nancy's thoughts here.

Patients - Make Your Voice Heard!
On Monday, June 27, NORD will host a meeting with the FDA to receive patients' input on new initiatives. Patients, this is a great opportunity for you to let the FDA know what you think about topics from genetic testing and how you balance risk and reward when considering therapies. The event is organized by the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD), a nonprofit committed to the identification, treatment, and cure of rare disorders through programs of education, advocacy, research, and service. Seating is limited, so click here to register today! If you would like more information on the event, please call CFCF at 617.948.2514. |

Save the Date: Cure Carcinoid Golf Tournament
Start working on your golf game because it's almost time for SecondMarket Impact's Annual Cure Carcinoid Golf Tournament!
Last year's tournament was a huge success, raising nearly $45,000 in memory of Bradford Monks. Brad lost his battle with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer and passed away in February 2007. Over the last four years, a growing community of supporters has hit the links to raise much-needed funds to fight this deadly disease. All proceeds go to the SecondMarket-Bradford Monks Memorial Award to support cutting-edge neuroendocrine cancer research. Join us on Monday, September 26 for the 5th Annual Cure Carcinoid Golf Tournament at Knickerbocker Country Club in Tenafly, NJ. Details available here. If you'd like to play in the tournament, attend the dinner, sponsor the event, or donate auction items, please contact Amanda Sydor.
