PRRNT Conference in Germany Announced

Dr. Baum

Attention, neuroendocrine cancer clinicians:  The 1st World Congress on Ga-68 and Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT or PRRNT) will be held in Bad Berka, Germany June 23- 26.  Dr. Richard Baum and Dr. Frank Rosch are organizing the event.

The program contains topics ranging from radionuclide generation to PRRNT. The meeting organizers state, "We expect outstanding speakers from all over the world who certainly will give fascinating insights in their research and clinical work, thus creating new ideas and concepts on the way to personalized medicine. This conference is not just about PRRNT therapy, it is about using complementary radionuclides to deliver personalized PRRNT to patients."  Sessions will focus on radionuclide generation, radionuclides for clinical imaging, and using radionuclide imaging and other diagnostics to personalize therapy with PRRT.

To learn more about PRRNT or Dr. Baum, please see Executive Director Lauren Erb's blog.

In addition to the survey, we are also developing agendas for our upcoming Patient Education Seminars in Stanford, Philadelphia, and Houston.  Which topics would YOU like to hear our expert faculty address?  E-mail us with your ideas.  Your feedback is important to us and critical to our programs.  We will go live with the Stanford agenda in May!

Congratulations, Country Music Marathoners!

Team JacobWe've been tracking the progress of Team Jacob and The Little Team That Could during their training for the 2011 Country Music Marathon and Half-Marathon in Nashville, TN.  This Saturday, all of their hard work paid off, raising nearly $20,000 for neuroendocrine cancer research!

Join us to cheer their efforts to honor the memories of Jacob Carwile and Payton Farnell Graeber.

Little Team That Could

As one member of the Little Team That Could wrote, "Raising money for the Caring for Carcinoid

Foundation has helped me feel like I can make a difference... By raising awareness we can help people detect cancer earlier. By raising money for research we can help create new treatments for cancer."

For photos, please see the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation website and Facebook page.

Another shout-out to the Team CFCF runners in the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon!  Great work to all of our athletes in Louisville.
