We are very excited to participate in the 2011 Los Angeles Marathon and 5K Run/Walk as part of our 3rd annual LA Patient Education Weekend! The race is a great opportunity to connect with fellow neuroendocrine cancer patients and their families, raise vitally needed funds for research, and do something for yourself that's both healthy and fun! CFCF will host a � day conference at Cedars-Sinai as part of our 3rd annual LA Patient Education Weekend. Please join us to learn more about the latest in neuroendocrine cancer clinical trials. Expert speakers from Cedars-Sinai and UCLA will give brief lectures and then answer questions from patients and caregivers in a moderated discussion. MD Anderson SCOPE Fun Run/Walk
Houston, TX - March 26
Join CFCF team captain Jan Peine for the 6th annual SCOPE 5K run/walk and kids 1K run/walk (for ages 12 and younger). Bring the whole family for the post-race party, featuring games, puppet shows, music, food and more! Every dollar raised by Team CFCF will fund vital neuroendocrine cancer research. Country Music Marathon
Nashville, TN - April 30
The Rock 'n Roll Marathon series hits Nashville on April 30 for the Country Music Marathon and Half-Marathon. Join Team CFCF in beautiful, musical Nashville as we run for a cure. If you're in the area but unable to participate, come on out and show your support - you just might catch a glimpse of Carrie Underwood or Garth Brooks! Bolder Boulder Boulder, CO - May 30 Recently named "America's Best 10K" by Runner's World magazine, the Bolder Boulder is not only one of the largest road races in the world, but also a fun and festive family event. The race winds through Boulder's neighborhoods and finishes in CU's Folsom Field with one of the largest Memorial Day tributes in the country! Swim Across America Boston, MA - July 15
Join our relay team, led by CFCF's very own Executive Director, Lauren Erb, as we complete a 22-mile relay style open water swim across the Boston Harbor! Fort Collins, CO - July 23 In May 2004, Jeanne Lambert was diagnosed with stage IV carcinoid cancer. In 2005, she inaugurated the Run for Hope and the rest, as they say, is history! The first year, Jeanne was told not to expect more than 50 participants; instead, she attracted 420 runners and raised $15,000! Pan Mass Challenge Massachusetts - August 6 & 7
Do you enjoy cycling? Have you ever wondered if you have what it takes to cycle 50, 100, or nearly 200 miles in 2 days? Do you want to support CFCF's efforts to find a cure for neuroendocrine cancers? If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, the PMC is for you! Join team captains Anne Doyle, Alexa Shabecoff, and Matt Bemis, along with a team of 40+ riders, for an extraordinary experience - one that will leave you feeling both inspired and accomplished. The PMC offers 7 different rides, each ranging in distance and duration. All proceeds go to CFCF-funded research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Philadelphia Patient Education Conference Philadelphia, PA - September 16 The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation is coming to the City of Brotherly Love! As with our events in Boston, Houston, Los Angeles, and Palo Alto, we will bring together the local community of neuroendocrine cancer patients, loved ones, medical professionals and advocates for a weekend of education, support, and bonding. Jimmy Fund Walk Boston, MA - September 18
Lace up your sneakers and get ready to walk! The Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk is for everyone who's ever wanted to say "I did the Boston Marathon!" It's the only charity event allowed to walk the storied Boston Marathon route, winding through the western suburbs, over the infamous Heartbreak Hill, and finishing in Boston's Back Bay. It is one of CFCF's signature athletic events and offers something for everyone; In addition to the full 26.2 mile marathon route, there are 13.1 mi, 5 mi, and 3 mi options as well. Palo Alto Moonlight Run
Palo Alto, CA - September 9
As part of the 2nd annual Stanford Patient Education Weekend, Team CFCF will be participating in the 2011 Palo Alto Moonlight Run on Friday, September 9. Run at night, illuminated only by the light of the full moon in this unique and fun event. Join CFCF and members of the local neuroendocrine cancer community as we run or walk 5K or 10K loop courses over the Palo Alto Baylands levee and through the marshlands under the light of the Harvest moon. Stanford Patient Education Conference Palo Alto, CA - September 10 Join CFCF for our 2nd annual Patient Education Conference at Stanford Cancer Center. Marine Corps Marathon Washington, D.C. - October 30
Join Team CFCF in "The People's Marathon" and run to a cure as we raise vitally needed funds for research. Also known as "The Marathon of the Monuments," this is a truly beautiful course that takes runners past historic landmarks, including the Jefferson Memorial, the National Mall, the Lincoln Memorial and the U.S. Capitol.
