Happy Thanksgiving from the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation!
This is the time of year to give thanks! As 2010 comes to a close, the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation is grateful to you, our friends.
We are grateful to the doctors and researchers that strive each day to improve patient care and discover a cure for carcinoid cancer and neuroendocrine tumors.
We are grateful to the many patients that we have gotten to know and work with over the years. Our Founder, Nancy Lindholm, thanks her fellow neuroendocrine tumor patients in her latest blog.
We are grateful to our generous donors who make our research endeavors possible.
We are grateful to each of you who has joined us in pursuit of a cure. It is a bold statement, but one we firmly believe in. With driven patients, world-class doctors and scientists, and the generosity of our kind-hearted donors, we will cure these cancers.

Kick-Off your New Year by Cycling for a Cure!
2011 is quickly approaching and its the time of year when all of us begin thinking about our New Year's Resolutions. Do you resolve to exercise more, give back to the community, or perhaps spend more time with family and friends? Through participating in the Cycle for Survival nationwide event you can accomplish all of these goals!
On February 12th and 13th Team CFCF athletes will meet nationwide to cycle for a cure. Cycle for Survival is an indoor team relay ride fundraiser that raises money in support of research on rare cancers at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). This year, Team CFCF riders will support MSKCC's participation in the CFCF Neuroendocrine Tumor Biobank.
Official events will be held at Equinox Fitness Clubs in New York City and Chicago, with satellite events nationwide. One rider exclaimed, "The event is indescribable. You see hundreds of people riding -- the music is pulsing, people are cheering and yelling, and at that moment you feel like we can make anything happen. It's just a feeling of hope and progress."It's easy to recruit your own team of 2 to 8 friends, family members, or co-workers and cycle to a cure at your local gym. To learn more or sign-up to cycle, please visit CFCF's website. |
