Advocate for Change: FDA Hearing on Treatments for Rare Diseases
FDAThe Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will hold a public hearing on June 29 and 30 in order to gain input from patients, healthcare providers, academic researchers, and others to help shape the future work of FDA's committee for rare diseases.

This is an important opportunity for patients to provide input on approval and post-marketing surveillance of products for rare diseases like neuroendocrine tumors.

The free hearing will be held in Silver Spring, Maryland and it is open to the public. To learn more, or for information on how you can participate and have your voice heard click here.
Research!America Poll Reveals Concerns About the Pace of Medical Research
A recent Research!America poll found that while 72% of respondents feel the FDA is a trustworthy source of medical information, 41% feel it takes too long to approve a drug and allow it to be sold to consumers.

Click here to read more about the results of this poll.

The poll found very strong support (94%) for the idea that institutions conducting medical and health research should work together, including government, industry, and universities.  This point highlights the importance of collaboration, a critical tenet of CFCF's Research Road Map.

CFCF has been a proud member of Research!America since 2007 and supports Research!America's mission to make research to improve health a higher national priority.
