Research in Pursuit of a Cure
In a recent paper published in Nature Clinical Practice Oncology, the authors summarize the challenges of treating neuroendocrine tumors, discuss available data about therapies used to treat well-differentiated NETs, and the current strategies being used in clinical trials. Click here to read this paper.All CFCF-funded research follows a 3-step Research Road Map in order to unlock the genetic causes of carcinoid and related NETs, and to develop novel, targeted therapies. A recent article in the Boston Globe detailed the importance of such genetic research in finding new treatments for cancers and, in particular, for rare cancers. Click here to read this article.
