RESEARCH ROAD MAP
Research Road Map3 steps to a carcinoid cure
All cancer is caused by genetic mutations.

Therefore, CFCF follows a 3-step Research Road Map to unlock the genetic causes of carcinoid and develop novel, targeted therapies.

We designed our Research Road Map based on guidance from our Board of Scientific Advisors.

All members of our Board of Scientific Advisors are pioneers in genetically-based research of carcinoid and other cancers, including pancreatic endocrine cancer, lung cancer, and gastrointestinal stromal tumors.  Their work has contributed to the development of several revolutionary new cancer treatments, including Gleevec.  Therefore, our Research Road Map is based on proven models of successful cancer drug discovery.

We believe our vision of developing new, genetically targeted therapies is bold, achievable, and offers a profoundly exciting hope for carcinoid patients, families, and friends.

PAN-MASS CHALLENGE
PMC Team Training 2Team CFCF Update
Team CFCF has proudly entered the 2007 Pan-Mass Challenge on August 4-5, 2007.

In preparation, Team CFCF had a wonderful get-together on July 7, 2007.

Bikers were underway at 7:30am for a training ride.  Afterward, we joined together to carbo load and hear from Dr. Daniel Chung, a CFCF 2005 research grantee, about his exciting research.

Team members also enjoyed a special visit by Sam and Penny Farnell, parents of Payton Farnell Graeber.  Payton died of carcinoid on January 23, 2007 at at age 29.

We are grateful that every dollar we raise for Team CFCF will be matched by the Steve and Caroline Kaufer Foundation.

Keep spinning!
