TONY STARLIGHT: Guest DJ on  KMHD's "Divaville"

This Wednesday night April 23rd I will have the honor of being guest DJ on KMHD's stellar program "Divaville".  I don't know what's more exciting, being able to share some of my favorite tunes with you or being seated alongside the delightful Christa Wessell, the gal who puts the "Diva" in Divaville.  I will be focusing on songs you don't know by artists you do.  Please tune in to 89.1 FM during the 7 o'clock hour this Wednesday night and enjoy some really great music.

DJANGO'S CADILLAC 7:30 $5

I loved them so much I asked them back. Fronted by a true vocalist, the beautiful Kat Cogswell, this band plays tight and fun arrangements of the Great American Songbook. They create a delicious new blend of music by combining the gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt, western swing, Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, and Ella Fitzgerald. A great night for dancers!  MINORS OK. Minors $3

Thursday April 24
JOHN ENGLUND TRIO 8 PM $5

Pianist John Englund leads his trio including Patrick Harry on bass, Sam Berrett on drums, and featuring Mindy Anderson on vocals on their maiden voyage here at Tony's. This will be an evening for the jazz lover, with originals and tasty arrangements of classic tunes.

Friday April 25
THE SHANGHAI WOOLIES 8 PM $10 / 10:30 $5

The world's greatest band. I love these guys (and you do too.) It's hard to get a seat for these nights, so act fast. Gavin Bondy (Pink Martini) leads this band of superstars including the captivating Mel Kubic (Quarterflash) on lead vocals. They play spectacular arrangements of Ellington, Armstrong and a few surprises. The second set is ideal for dancing.  The 8 pm show is near sold out!  Come to the late show.

Saturday April 26
TONY STARLIGHT 8 PM $10 / 10:30 $5

The Tony Starlight Show is like nothing else. Swinging standards, parody songs, impressions, audience participation, tight pants and phony mustaches. I don't know what else you could want. The first show is slick and rehearsed. The late show is alcohol fueled chaos. Featuring Reece Marshburn on piano, Arick Gouwerok on bass and Russell Gores on drums.
