Hello!
We hope this message finds you warm and comfortable! It has been a rough winter for us in Chicagoland through the month of February, and we are ready for some sunshine and warmer weather to lift our spirits! It appears that next week we will be warming up, and thus able to send orchids safely to almost all areas of the US!
In order to lift your spirits, this month we are offering a special on Lady Slippers. Four different varieties that should bloom within a year. Check out the info below or click on the Paphiopedilum photo below and right to go immediately to the special.
Perhaps more exciting is the recent posting to the website of over 100 new offerings of plants. You can see these new items listed separately by clicking the link below:
Paph delenatii
 Angraecum eburneum v. superbum
Liese has once again graced us with the wisdom of her years of growing experience. Did you know that she has been growing orchids since she was 10?! That's 19 years now - give or take....! Scroll down the page to see her column on repotting.
Thank you for your continued support! We hope to catch you at an orchid show this spring. If you will be at the Michigan Orchid Society Show in Troy, MI on March 15-16, let us know if we can bring you something and save you the shipping dollars!
Take care!

| GROWING TIP OF THE MONTH - by Liese |
|
Spring Means New Growth
With the opening days of March, we will begin to see signs of spring emerging! The days are getting longer and the sun is more intense. We also begin to see an increase in the number of sunny days; this will warm up your greenouse, sunroom or window growing area considerably.
This extra light and warmth will kick-start the orchid growing season. Many of our dormant orchids are just beginning to send out new growth. As soon as you see new growth beginning to emerge, you may start to water a bit more heavily. On sunny days, we also mist the orchids lightly. This will help to create humidity which, in turn, promotes new root and plant growth.
Spring is also the time to think about repotting. March through May are the best months to re-pot. The new roots and plant growth love to feel the fresh media!
We'll have more re-potting tips next month!
Happy Growing!
