Gnome Games is dedicated to serving our community by providing a safe, clean place for youth and adults to socialize and have fun!  We are also committed to supporting quality education for our youth by providing educational games and incentives for children to do well in school.
 
This year, as the School Year begins we are formally announcing the Gnome Games Great Grades Rewards Program for Students.
 
Students are encouraged to work hard in school and at home to get good grades.  At the end of each grading period for the 2009-2010 school year, students may bring in their report cards to reap the rewards of their hard work. 
 
Gnome Games will reward students with a discount based on their combined GPA for the current grading period.
 
Parents may wish to "Play Along" to give their students even more incentive in the following manner:
  1. Parents, sometime during the current grading period, help your student pick out a REWARD at Gnome Games to put on LAYAWAY. 
  2. Pay 50% down on this REWARD item.
  3. Let the student know that at the end of the grading period he/she will have the pay the balance due to receive the REWARD.
  4. Work out the math with your student using the rewards levels below to help them understand how much it will pay off to work hard

Discounts earned by students will be as follows: 

  • 3.5 to 4.0, take 50% OFF
  • 3.0 to 3.4, take 40% OFF
  • 2.5 to 2.9, take 25% OFF
  • 2.0 to 2.4, take 10% OFF 

EXAMPLE:  If the student achieves a GPA of 3.5-4.0 the balance due will be ZERO because Gnome Games will give the student 50% off and the Parent will already have paid 50% down.

Do the Math.... and don't forget to do the Reading... and Social Studies.... and Science and Music... and Phys Ed... and Art ...

Bring in your report card*, we'll figure your GPA (Grade Point Average) for the most current grading period:

  • 3.5 to 4.0 GPA, take 50% OFF any single purchase.**
  • 3.0 to 3.4, take 40% OFF
  • 2.5 to 2.9, get 25% OFF
  • 2.0 to 2.4, get 10% OFF

** Discount may be used on one purchase.  May not be combined with other offers.  Already discounted merchandise will be calculated using the manufacturers suggested price.  Full Displays or Full Cases will be calculated at the individual item price (not the discounted quantity price).  No cash value.

"How is the GPA determined?
 
Answer:
Grades earned will be assigned a point value using the following scale:
A = 4.0, A- = 3.66, B+ = 3.33, B = 3.0, B- = 2.66, C+ = 2.33, C = 2.0, C- = 1.66, D+ = 1.33, D = 1.0, D- = .66, F+ = .33, F = 0 
 
Points will be added together for all grades received and then divided by the number of classes for the most recent grading period only.   This way you are not penalized for your past - you are working for better grades and we'll reward you for your current performance!

English                    A-              =      3.66
Math                         A                =      4.0
Science                   A                =      4.0
Social Studies       B                =      3.0
Band                        B+             =      3.33
Art                             A                =      4.0
Phys Ed                   A-              =       3.66
 
Total Points                              =      25.65
Divided by 7 Classes                     25.65 / 7 = 3.66 GPA
