June brings summer breaks, vacations and a lot of great games!  June 2008 promises to be filled with great games and one of the biggest conventions of the year - Origins!  It also brings more events and leagues for the summer at Gnome Games!  You can download our current event calendar here   

 

June is the month of RPG's at Gnome Games. (That's Role-playing Games not Rocket - Propelled Gnomes)

 

 

Wizards of the Coast starts June off right with the release of Dungeons and Dragons 4E on June 6.  We'll have all of the books, dice, miniatures and accessories to start your summer off adventures right available first - at midnight!  We'll follow that up with World Wide Dungeons and Dragons Day on Saturday June 7.  The adventures continue with Free RPG Day on June 21st!  We've got free adventures for the non-D&D RPG's including some great stuff from White Wolf, Goodman Games, Paizo and other great publishers. 

 

June is an important month for Pokémon players.  In addition to the weekly Pokémon Leagues and tournaments we've got the Pokémon Spring Battle Road on June 17th.  Pokémon Nationals will also be held in Columbus Ohio on June 28.  We've got a few players going this year and wish them good luck!  For new players the first session of the Gnome Games Pokémon Camp runs June 23 - 27.

 

Summer arrives at Gnome Games the week of June 16th with weekly Junior Leagues for players ages 16 and under every afternoonfrom 1 to 3 pm.  We'll only allow players under the age of 16 to play during this time!  Mondays we'll be playing miniature games like Warhammer, Warhammer 40K, HeroClix and Pokemon Miniatures.  Tuesdays are made for Magic the Gathering, Wednesdays are for Yu Gi Oh, and Thursdays are for special games and events like Learn to Paint sessions, Board Games and Chess! Fridays are for adventuring with early sessions of RPGA - Dungeons & Dragons events.

  

The Race for the Throne for Legend of 5 Rings also heats up in June with the Blessing of P'an Ku Storyline Tournament.  This special tournament will be held Saturday June 21 at the Best Western Hotel in Green Bay.  Players from around the world will compete to see which clan recieves the Blessing of P'an Ku as part of the tournament prizes.

 

June 21 also brings the newest releases for UFS (Universal Fighting System)  - Street Fighter and Darkstalkers.  Gnome Games will host Prereleases for both sets on Saturday June 21.  We'll start with Deadly Ground at Noon and follow with Realm of Midnight at 4:00. Both sets promise some great cards and the prerelease is a great way to get some of the cards before they go on sale  on June 30.

 

June ends with the World of Warcraft  2 - Headed Ogre Smash & Bash Tournament at 2:00 on June 28th.  This special team event will be a sealed tournament with the winning team getting 2 copies of the Ogre Suite Loot Card item codes.  All participants will keep the packs they played with and a Fireworks Trinket, a WoW item code normally only available with the Upper Deck World of Warcraft TCG points program.

 

 

Naruto players also get a special Chunin Level Exam on June 28th starting at 3:00 PM.  The winner of this event will win 2 Boxes of Naruto Boosters plus the the honorable title of Chunin.  Other  prizes for the tournament include Play Mats, Binders, Sleeves and a special prize available only at this event!  

 

So we expect to be very busy this month getting you your favorite games or playing with you both at Gnome Games and at BAYFEST!  If we miss your favorite game please let us know - sometimes the good ones sneak by us, and we do appreciate it when we get you the games you love to play!
